A small but perfectly formed group took to the water at Waipu Cove yesterday, Bream Bay Sliders members celebrated Xmas with a fancy dress gathering, many laughs were had, Mike C.

mid-winter festival of surfing

The 10th Annual Mid-Winter Festival of Surfing at Waipu Cove yesterday was a massive success, the surf conditions were far from ideal but it was a great day with loads of surf action and fun times, well done to the Bream Bay Sliders for a fantastic event, Mike C.

Based at Waipu Cove, home of The Cove Fish Fry is a great group of surfers called the Bream Bay Sliders, I am lucky enough to be a founding member, with the average age of the club members being around 50 there is no shortage of surfing knowledge and stories, more at http://breambaysliders.blogspot.co.nz/ Mike C.

The Cove Fish Fry is a gathering of positive and like-minded surfers and shapers sharing a day at the beach. The original format of the Fish Fry was based around the Fish surfboard but as the event has evolved and spread throughout the world it has become open to all forms of surfcraft, Fish, Logs, Hulls, Alaias, Handplanes, Mats, the list goes on. The Cove Fish Fry is a non-competitive and non-commercial event and will be held at Waipu Cove, Northland, NZ, save the date, March 2024 (date TBC) for the 9th Annual Cove Fish Fry, cheers Mike C.
