What a crazy time we have had in the North, Cyclone Gabrielle moved down the North Island creating hazoc, lots of damage out on the East Coast of Northland, beach access and sanddunes wiped out. Before TC Gabrielle hit the Ruakaka Surf Day 2023 was on at Ruakaka Beach, what a fantastic event for all those involved, people with disabilities learning to surf with the help of volunteers. Around all this action there has been a few nice days with waist high peelers, above Innes and an unkown surfer make the most of it, cheers Mike C.

KNEES UP
So good to see Robbo back in the water after a very scary skateboarding accident, Robbo hails from Tutukaka Coast and rides most types of surfcraft but these shots are of him on his all time favourite, a converted Kneeboard, just ripping, Mike C.

film studies
You may have noticed already but all the images on TCFF blog are on 35mm film, this has always been a passion of mine and documenting the Northland surf culture looks great on film, I hope you all enjoy the blog and I also hope it keeps the stoke alive in between the FRYS, Mike C.

local DJ
Helena Bay's DJ has been riding prone for sometime now and on a recent trip to Hawaii she could not help herself and purchased a Hawaii Paipo Design's Paipo, different to her Bodyboard in many ways but she is loving the challenge, so cool to catch up with her and Mike and talk about other forms of wavecraft, mats, Paulownia paipos, tray surfing and handplanes, Mike C.
