Waipu Cove has once again been plagued with weed making surfing near impossible, the large East Coast swell that is hitting the coast at the moment may have some impact on it, fingers crossed, cheers Mike C.

The local farmers and reserve committee with permission from Council have removed the bulk of the smelly Algal Bloom from Waipu Cove today, well done all involved, getting things done Northland styles, Mike C.

The Algal Bloom has made its annual visit to the Cove, it's not great to surf in and is getting rather smelly on the beach in this hot Northland summer weather, council and locals are working on a plan to clean it up again, Mike C.

There is still a lot of Seaweed/Algal Bloom left at Waipu Cove, locals have been cleaning it up but there is still plenty floating around in the surf, at least it is surfable now, just make sure you have a shower afterwards, it's a tad smelly, Mike C.
