Wooden Boards Day 2016

Just had word in from Grant Newby on the Gold Coast of Australia about another super successful Wooden Boards Day at Currumbin AU, I would have loved to have been there this Sunday gone, I have been lucky enough to attend one in 2011 and been to many Alley Fish Frys which are also organised by Grant, well done mate, Mike C.

The 7th Annual Wooden Surfboards Show & Ride Day is set down for the 7th of August 2015, Currumbin Alley, Gold Coast AU, the man behind this event and The Alley Fish Fry is Grant Newby, longtime friend and very talented board builder, will be another great day, Grant's email is grantnewby@bigpond.com Mike C.

The Cove Fish Fry 2014 was a great success with hundreds of people descending on Waipu Cove yesterday, I have many rolls of film to scan but here are a few images to get ya started, THANKS ! to all those that helped out, travelled, brought boards and came and enjoyed a day at the beach, so stoked !, more images ASAP, Cheers Mike C.

Jason Shaw has been in Northland (NZ) for the last few months, catching waves, making fins, working on projects and has ordered a few boards at Surfline Custom Surfboards including this 'Light Chambered Quad', Jas is a top bloke with lots of surfing knowledge and will be a great guy to talk to at The Cove Fish Fry in March next year, Mike C. 

AU bodysurf guru

Australian bodysurfing guru Jason Cuthbert has booked his flights to attend The Cove Fish Fry next year, I met Jas at the Alley Fish Fry a few years ago, really interesting guy with loads of bodysurfing equipment and waveriding experience, a real waterman who can make a wavecraft out of just about anything, even a toilet lid (middle photo above), he will be a great guy to talk to about handplanes, mats and cubits, Mike C.
